About Me

My photo
We are known as PaWingers or just The Wingers by our Geocaching friends. When we found our first cache we had to come up with a name to log the find. We came up with this name simply because of residing in Pa. and because one of our many passions is cruising this beautiful country on our Honda Goldwing. Aside from geocaching we are passionate about most anything outdoors including hiking, kayaking, snowmobiling and biking. We are blessed beyond words with a wonderful son and daughter in law. We're also blessed with some terriffic family and friends. We consider ourselves very fortunate due to the fact that after being married over 40 years we still enjoy these things together.

It's up, it's down, it's all around!

Does it get any better than this!  Early February and we're out hiking with no snow on the ground and fairly pleasant temperatures.  We just couldn't bare to waste a day like this so we grabbed the camera, the GPS's and the trekking poles and headed to our favorite stomping grounds.  Aside from enjoying all that nature offers, we also wanted to go after a series of geocaches hidden along a beautiful Quehanna Trail called the Mosquito Creek Trail.  This trail has a special meaning to us because we used to be the volunteer trail maintainers for this 5 mile stretch of trail.

So we won't bore you to death with all details of our caching adventure other than to say we found 19 caches and had a nice 6 mile hike in an absolutely beautiful area.  One thing that became very apparent to us is that we were wrapped in the arms of nature.  The beauty was indeed up, down and all around!  Hope you enjoy the pictures as much as we enjoyed our afternoon in the Quehanna Wild Area.

We caught these cows making their way across Bennetts Branch.

Pretty decent detail considering it was handheld and the time of day was about 4:30 PM, broad daylight.

Okay I have to admit, I really needed my tripod. They aren't too bad though for handholding a 100-400.
By the way, the tail is blue on this jet.

I thought this was a really gnarly cloud formation.

Like I said, it's up, it's down, it's all around!
